Who We Are

Good Shepherd School is a Catholic, co-educational school system serving students in Pre-kindergarten through 8th grade. Following the ministry of the Roman Catholic Church our programs are designed to recognize the individual differences among children, provide a learning environment to respond to these differences, and foster our students’ spiritual, intellectual, physical, social, and emotional formation. Through our curricular and extracurricular programs, the knowledge acquired, the skills developed, and the values accepted, all contribute to our students’ self-esteem and their future success in academic pursuits, career goals, and life commitments.

Mission Statement

The mission of Good Shepherd Catholic Regional School is to provide spiritual and academic growth in a safe and nurturing environment. We encourage students to grow deeper in faith, strive for academic excellence, and respect themselves and others. Together with our school family, we prepare students to meet the needs of the greater community, now and in the future.

Our History

The Greater Woonsocket Catholic Regional School System was founded in 1972 by the pastors of twelve Northern Rhode Island parishes. The original system was comprised of six schools including five elementary schools (Monsignor Gadoury, Our Lady of Victories, Sacred Heart, St. Joseph, and St. Ann) and one junior high school (Holy Family). Over the years, the system responded to the changing of the times by restructuring schools to meet students’ educational needs. Today, the Greater Woonsocket Catholic Regional School System is comprised of our Lower Campus (Pre-K – Grade 3) and Upper Campus (Grades 4 – 8), located at Good Shepherd Catholic Regional School. Our school serves Catholic and non-Catholic students and their families in fifteen communities throughout northern Rhode Island and south-central Massachusetts. Our school offers before and after-school care to accommodate our working families with different dismissal times for easier pickup.
